Travel Blog - Odisha Tour - Nov 2017 - Golden Age Travels

This was the first tour of the Golden Age Travels. We were six of us, my daughter, Mona joined later, so total seven guests. We had booked the hotel Mango Prangan in Bhubaneswar which was very close to the railway station. The hotel was good, but a little expensive and the rooms were small in size. I had booked two cabs, the drivers were young, always on time and very talkative. 24th Nov 2017 - Bhubaneswar We had only the evening for visiting, so since most of the temples would be about to close, went to Nand Kanan Zoo which had very healthy animals and many white tigers. We booked a battery operated car and it was fun. 25th Nov 2017 After breakfast we went to visit Rajarani temple, Lingeswar temple, Parashurameshwar temple and Mukteshwar temple. Travel Blog - My visit to Jaipur - March 2017

11th March 2017 We started early morning, went in Karns car with a driver. We had aloo ka paratha for breakfast at home. Karn gave us many fruits and sweets to carry for the journey. It took nearly 4.5 hours to reach Nirvana Hometel hotel. It was very close to the railway station, the room was very nice. We had lunch at the hotel and the food was good too. We went to see City palace, it has Chandra Mahal and Mubarak Mahal of the 17th century. There was a good collection of armour but we could click pictures. From there we went to Birla Mandir. The view from the temple was very nice. Very few people were inside the temple, most of them were enjoying the scenic beauty outside. Architecture was too good. First time, I saw in between the sculptures, Jesus statue was also there. TRAVEL BLOG - My visit to Udipi Krishna Temple

It is believed that Vishwakarma made this idol of lord Krishna which was later discovered by Madhavacharya, the great devotee of Lord Krishna. Mother Yashoda, the foster mother of Shri Krishna enjoyed his baal leela of Shri Krishna, but mother Devaki could not. So to honour his mothers wish, Shri Krishna took the form of child and demonstrated all his playful activities. Mother Devaki was overjoyed, Rukmini, Krishna's wife also adored the Baal leela. She requested Krishna to make an idol of Bala Krishna. Vishwakarma made the idol with the holi Saligram stone. The idol was worshipped with sandalpaste and gradually got totally covered with sandal in the course of time. After dwapara yuga, the city Dwaraka was completely washed away by the sea.
